  • First of all, our Onsite Desktop Support engineers have access to our entire engineering team, which includes experts in servers, networks, and a wide variety of technologies. So they have access to expertise that "your" desktop person does not have access to.

  • Secondly, as part of our offering, our Onsite Desktop Suppor person uses our suite of Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools to record where they are focusing their efforts and to escalate complex problems to our server and network engineering teams (as required). So if you wonder "What does this person DO all day?", we can provide you with reports that show specifically what issues they have been addressing and how much time they spent on each issue. We even have clients who have adopted our PSA tools for use by their internal staff, so we host those tools for the client and provide the client with access to customized reporting capabilities tailored to their specific requirements.

  • Finally, everybody needs a vacation now and then. Or gets sick. Or decides that it's time to move on in their career. So if you've hired your own internal person and that happens, you just "do without" until you can fill the hole in your org chart. Meanwhile, your end-users are still trying to succeed using the tools you have given them. And of course, when your person is on vacation for a week, that's the time that you have a virus outbreak that cripples your network.
