Schedule your InformIT Backup Service Backups
Client software talks to our servers to protect YOUR data

You should have already downloaded and installed the InformIT Backup Service client software on your local machine before you can follow the steps below to configure it. A link to download the client software was included in the "sign up" confirmation e-mail that you received. If you don't have the client software, you must first sign up for the service on our "sign up" page.

Once you have signed up for the service, you will receive an e-mail with a link to download the client software to your machine.

Schedule your InformIT Backup Service client software to back up your computer

  1. To schedule a new backup job, select ADD BACKUP from the BACKUP menu...



  2. You'll then see a screen that allows you to configure how you want to set up the backups...



  3. Enter a name for the backup job (spaces are not allowed in the name)...



  4. Select to backup to a remote server and set the backup server name to Backup.DesktopResources.com...



  5. Schedule how often you want the job to run....



  6. If your machine is off when the scheduled backup time occurs, you can choose to have a backup run every time InformIT Backup Service starts via the Advanced Options....







  7. Click Save Backup and Proceed to run the backup....
