First Time you access InformIT Backup Service
Client software talks to our servers to protect YOUR data

You should have already downloaded and installed the InformIT Backup Service client software on your local machine before you can follow the steps below to configure it. A link to download the client software was included in the "sign up" confirmation e-mail that you received. If you don't have the client software, you must first sign up for the service on our "sign up" page.

Once you have signed up for the service, you will receive an e-mail with a link to download the client software to your machine.

The First Time you run the InformIT Backup Service client software

The first time you sign in to InformIT Backup Service, you'll need to...

  • Log In to the InformIT Backup Server client software from your internet browser. (See our "Log In to InformIT Backup Service" page for details).

  • Authenticate to the backup server by selecting "Backup.DesktopResources.com" as the backup server that you want to use and click "Test Connectivity to Backup Server"...



  • Click TEST CONNECTION and you should see that you are able to connect to Backup.DesktopResources.com, then click CLOSE....



  • Now you can enter the password that you want to use for your backups and click AUTHENTICATE....



  • The first time you sign in to InformIT Backup Service, you'll be taken to the screen to set up your first backup job...



You are now ready to SCHEDULE YOUR BACKUPS with InformIT Backup Service!
